Pack,unpack,pack...

Don't know when I will learn - to take all what we need at the first time and then just pack.No no no..Same thing every single time.Put something in and next time take it off. Now I know what we need, next step is to get all that suff to the bags.

This dress I got from my mother this summer.She has done this dress by herself during the sixties. First I thought it is too colourful but more I'm looking at it the colours match quite nicely.This is a far far away what I am using, still I like it, in some way .It is perfect long shirt for hot summer days. For the winter I bought this grey one from sale. It needs to have another shirt under,material is so soft and no ironing - a real "get up and go dress".

En tiedä milloin se onnistuu, pakkaaminen yhdellä kertaa. Ei, se ei vaan luonnistu. Ikuinen ongelma.Laitan kassiin jotain ja seuraavassa hetkessä otan ne taas pois. Nyt tiedän mitä tarvitsemme, seuraava askel on sovittaa ne laukkuihin.

Värikäs mekko löytyi äitini varastoista. Se on omin käsin ommeltu joskus kuusikymmentä luvulla.Ensialkuun värit hyppäsivät silmille mutta nyt ne näyttävät sopivan hienosti kankaalle.Näin värikäs tyyli on kaukana omastani mutta pidän mekosta ja sen väreistä. Ennen kaikkea se on täydellinen pitkä paita kuumiin kesäpäiviin. Harmaan mekon löysin alennusmyynnistä.Ihan tälläisenään mekkoa ei voi käyttää vaan tarvitsee paidan alleen.Materiaali on pehmeää ja silitystä ei välttämättä tarvita - oikea "ylös ja menoksi" mekko.

Books

Our daughter, 7 years old, at grade one here,at grade two down there. Knows how to read and write in english and ...has some small problems with finnish language, though it is her mother language. These books from bookcase was her choice to take with. Hopefully these books will help.

Tyttäremme, seitsemän vanha. Eppuluokkalainen täällä,toppuluokkalainen maailmalla.Osaa lukea ja kirjoittaa englanniksi. Äidinkielen, suomen kielen kanssa on hieman hankaluuksia. Nämä kirjat kirjahyllystä lähtevät mukaan. Josko kieli olisi ymmärrettävämpää lukuhetkien jälkeen.

New shoes

Our little man needs a pair of shoes.Something what he can use during the wintertime in down there. Kind of shoes what children are using during autumn here in Finland.Trekking shoes maybe.Wellinton boots are a bit clumsy and not very comfortable if you need to have them on whole day at school. Well...These ones came home with me. Need to go back shopping again.

Pienen miehemme jalka on kasvanut ja oli aika ostaa kengät.Jotkut sellaiset mitä voi käyttää talviaikaan alhaalla. Sellaiset mitä lapset käyttävät syksyllä Suomessa.Maastokengät tahi lenkkarit.Kumisaappaat on hieman kömpelöt käytettäväksi koulussa koko päivän. No..Tämä pari tuli mukaani. Suunnistan ostoksille uudestaan.

Last week

Last week in Finland. So many things to remember,so many things to do.Four of us are running from place to place. Appointments with doctors and dentists.More vaccinations. Checking this and that.Seeing and meeting all friends. Changing Christmas(!) presents. In the middle of that trying to enjoy first days of autumn.

Viimeinen lomaviikko.Paljon muistettavaa,paljon tehtävää. Kiirehdimme paikasta toiseen.Lääkärit, hammaslääkärit, rokotukset, sitä sun tätä.Ystävien tapaamista. Joululahjojen vaihtoa (!). Kaiken tämän keskellä yritämme nauttia ensimmäisistä syyspäivistä.

Flea market founds,part two

During the summer I have been visiting some flea markets. These ones above are my favorites.

My husband asked where do we need all these small boxes..Hhmm.Maybe for hiding some small things..The hammer is husband's gift to me.

Microscope is for children.They have been playing outside whole summer,doing different kind of projects and kept telling they need a microscope for searching new animals.Luckily we found a good metal one with light.Projects can continue.

Kirpputorilöytöjä kesän ajalta. Suosikkini ovat ylimmissä kuvissa olevat tarjoilulautaset. Mieheni mielestä meillä on pieniä laatikkoja jo riittämiin ja hän heittikin pahan kysymyksen, mihin kaikkia niitä tarvitaan...pienempien tavaroiden säilyttämiseen, kenties...

Lapset ovat leikkineet ulkona koko kesän, projekteja varten olisi tarvittu mikroskooppia jo aiemmin mutta onneksi viimein löysimme kunnollisen, valolla varustetun.Slaavilaista kauneuttakin tarttui mukaan.

Flea market founds

Some old books.Thank you Cia from Olivelund (cia11.wordpress.com) who told about her favourite flea market. I was thinking to use these books for my crafting projects but now I have a feeling I can't destroy these lovely old books.Books are not the first edition or any special in that way, not in a good shape but I just can't do it - can't rip off a page. Neither to clip off any picture. Like those beautiful paintings.

This book of carpets I bought for my mother. We have ragcarpets (sorry,not sure what is real name for these carpets in English) made by mum. I just like the simplicity with them. Easy to wash, easy to use. The book is from 1958. I like the cover picture.

Like quite many in this lovely blog world, I am addict to granny squares.For me it is a big deal. After finishing the very first square, I jump up and down ( not really) but anyway I was so proud of myself - I did it! My backround - I'm left-handed.By the time I was at school, my teacher thought I'm hopeless what it comes with knitting, sewing, not even mention about chrochet..But now after more than 20 years, I have showed it to myself - I can do it! A great big thanks to mother.Without my mother's kind help, I could not have done any.

Kirjalöytöjä kirpputorilta.Ihania,vanhoja kirjoja, joita ajattelin käytettäväksi talven askarteluprojekteissa.Vielä en ole voinut repäistä sivua tahi leikata kuvia.En vain voi.Räsymattokirjan ostin äidilleni.Meillä on kaikki matot äitini kutomia ja ovat ehdottomasti suosikkejani.Helppo pestä,helppo käyttää.

Isoäidin ruudut ovat vallanneet vähäisen vapaa-aikani.Saatuani ensimmäisen ruudun valmiiksi,olin onnesta sekaisin.Ensimmäistä kertaa elämässäni sain jotain virkattua! Suurkiitos äiti!

Mum's holiday

Here I am at home, by myself.It is mum's holiday.Or maybe it is better to say- a time of my own. So far I have gone through my craft supplies, took some photos, have done some cleaning (to be continue..), done some washing (piles of clothes) and now,the very next step is ironing. But all of this without any stress, taken the time what it needs. But I am not doing this all the day, a pile of magazines, cup of coffee and ice cream with strawberries are waiting for me...Have a relaxing weekend!

Kotona ollaan, aivan yksin. On äidin loma, oma aika. Tänään olen käynyt läpi askartelutarvikkeita, siivonnut (jatkuu..), ottanut valokuvia, pessyt pyykkiä ja seuraava askel onkin silittäminen. Kaikki tämä ilman stressiä, tehden rauhassa ja lomittain. Nyt on kuitenkin aika istahtaa,kahvia on kupissa, jäätelö mansikkoineen vieressä ja vino pino lehtiä lukemista vailla. Rentouttavaa viikonloppua!
